Unis & Réunis : Domaines & événements supports October Rose
Pink October is much more than just an annual campaign: it is a unifying moment of mobilizations, testimonies and actions in the fight against breast cancer. This is an opportunity for all actors: associations, health professionals, businesses, communities, citizens, to come together around a strong message: screening saves lives.

Our mobilization at Domaines & Events
At Domaines & Events, we have chosen to make this month of October a strong symbol of our human value. From our domains to the Maison d'Issy, we wanted to join forces and our smiles to affirm our support for this cause that can affect us near or far. Each employee was invited to participate, whether by wearing a pink ribbon, clothing or accessory.
We have also chosen to make a concrete commitment by supporting the Ligue contre le Cancer de Luisant (28), by buying pink pins and ribbons, proudly worn by our teams.

Pink October: history, symbols and international scope
- The concept of Breast Cancer Awareness Month has its roots in the United States. As early as 1985, the American Cancer Society, in partnership with the pharmaceutical division of Imperial Chemical Industries, organized a national prevention week that was gradually transformed into a dedicated month.
- The pink ribbon appeared in 1992, the result of a collaboration between Alexandra Penney, editor-in-chief of the magazine SELF and the Estée Lauder brand.
- In France, the first Pink October campaign was launched in 1994 by, the association Let's talk about breast cancer (became Pink ribbon).
- Since then, Pink October has become an annual global event, combining awareness-raising, fundraising, activities, walks, monument lighting, and information dissemination.
Each year, monuments or iconic sites light up pink, local associations mobilize, and the debate continues on the best prevention and support strategies.
The pink ribbon has now become the international sign of solidarity for people affected by breast cancer: a symbol of struggle, hope, and support. It is worn for:
- Recall the importance of screening and prevention
- Show support to the sick and to the families
- Raise awareness among those around you and the general public
The color pink, soft, warm, evokes femininity, life, but above all the identity of a fight in which everyone can participate.
Some key data
According to The National Cancer Institute, in 2023, it is estimated that around 61,214 new cases of breast cancer were detected in metropolitan France.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and also the one that causes the largest number of cancer-related deaths.
A worrying fact: according to some sources, France exceeds its European neighbors in terms of breast cancer incidence. With 105.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, France has one of the highest incidence rates in Europe.
It is estimated that every year, thanks to screening, more than 10,000 aggressive cancers are discovered at an early stage, which greatly improves the prospects for recovery by over 90%.
These figures are hopeful, but they should not mask the reality of inequalities in access to screening, delays in diagnosis or individual resistance.
At Domaines & Events, we are proud to have joined forces for Pink October. Together, let's continue to raise awareness, to take action, and to hope for a future where breast cancer is better detected, better treated and better understood.
Pink October is a special moment to remember that the fight against breast cancer mobilizes our hearts, our energies and our hopes.
We now invite collaborators, partners, customers, readers to join this movement, to raise awareness and to take action. And because screening saves lives, let's not wait: let's talk about it. Let's act together.
