History

Places born of entrepreneurial vision and passion
It’s an Ampersand story! You know the “&” in our logo, a symbol of union? Our story begins, above all, as an encounter — a meeting of different people and different worlds: that of the “Domaines” and that of the “événements”.
The “Domaines” side is Nicolas’s realm — an entrepreneur with a love of beauty, art, and architectural and natural heritage. A property man, yet far from conventional, he believes in a “revival of the countryside” and a hunger for authenticity!
The “événements” side is the talent who joined him: enthusiastic people, passionate about others. Their job: organising weddings and countryside corporate events — events that bring people together, unite them, and forge lasting connections. “Bring Together & Belong Together” becomes their creed.
It all began with a first meeting: Nicolas and Geoffroy, a restaurateur looking for a place west of Paris to develop an events project. It was love at first sight with La Thibaudère, a stately farmhouse with raw charm. Renovated between 2018 and 2019, it became our very first estate, envisioned as the ideal country house for meeting, celebrating and working differently. “Heads, I get my dream home. Tails, I get a dream business!” Nicolas told himself, “and land in the countryside doesn’t cost much...” The bet paid off: instant success from 2019... until Covid. La Thibaudère closed its doors. A setback? No — an accelerator. Lockdown became a time of retreat, conducive to reflection. And it was at the very heart of La Thibaudère that, within a few weeks, the twin “D&é” project was born.
At its core was the building of a team of professionals in marketing, sales, events, hospitality, HR, finance and management... and a brand, “Domaines & événements”, built on the idea of funding — and so restoring — heritage sites through private events (weddings) and corporate events. Today, the project unites and brings together around fifty employees and a wide range of skills.
At the same time, Nicolas founded “D&é Invest”, an investment company that creates or acquires the buildings and/or businesses of the estates.
After Thibaudère, west of Paris, in 2019, our second estate followed swiftly: Roche Couloir, in the Chevreuse forest, in spring 2020. Then came le Domaine de Vaujoly, near Chartres, at the end of 2020; Domaine d’Aveny, in the Vexin, in 2021 (as co-owner); Domaine des Barrenques, in Provence, in 2022; Grand Morin, in Seine-et-Marne, in June 2025; and Domaine de la Vivande, which opened in June 2026. Domaine de la Huguenoterie is set to join the collection in January 2027.

Our reason for being
A project rooted in passion and values above all else:
we team up to breathe new life into exceptional heritage sites, firmly rooted in the heart of nature, creating shared emotions and memorable moments.

The ambition
After Provence and eastern Paris, D&é is now looking to establish itself in the wider Paris countryside, Normandy, Provence, the Centre region and Hauts-de-France. The ‘D&é’ brand calls for heavy investment in property and furnishings from owners, and in-house expertise from Domaines & événements. Indeed, D&é's mixed positioning means multiplying events by building on two pillars: private clientele (weddings, etc.) and professional clientele (corporate events, etc.).
In addition to investing directly via D&é Invest, D&é is now open to owner-investors seeking management or rental arrangements, and to owner-operators seeking franchise or concession agreements. We offer a 360° service: pre-project study, financing file, project design, project management, opening, marketing, commercialisation, operational standards, performance monitoring, purchasing, HR, legal matters...
